Sky Fold House

Glass pavilions in private landscapes.

Perched on the north face of Camelback Mountain in Paradise Valley, Arizona, this residence unfolds along a singular, sculpted plane that rises and recedes with the mountain’s steep, boulder-strewn terrain. Its primarily north-facing facade is wrapped in expansive glass, capturing sweeping 270-degree views across Paradise Valley and toward distant horizons.

The architecture emerges from the land itself: the folded floating ground plane becomes vertical surface, rising into a dynamic roofline that appears to fold the sky when viewed from within. Anchored into the slope, the home incorporates a shaded garage and walk-out guest suite at the base, which supports a generous sundeck above—complete with covered outdoor living and dining areas. Oversized sliding glass panels seamlessly connect the main living space to the surrounding landscape, extending the indoors outward with fluid continuity.

A restrained materal palette enhances the home’s integration with its desert setting. Custom-colored, sandblasted double-score masonry walls, large-format procelain tile floors and walls, and warm walnut-ceilings and partitions create a tactile, timeless atmosphere—an architecture at once grouned and elevated, sculpted by light, stone, and sky
